Jamba!, also known as Jamster! in some countries, is a premium monthly SMS mobile phone content provider based in Berlin, Germany. Jamba's main line of business was the creation and marketing of ringtones for mobile phones, and notably marketed ringtones and other media for Crazy Frog.

Relationship with Crazy Frog

The original animation clip of The Annoying Thing received attention through peer-to-peer file sharing and word of mouth. Ringtone Europe and Jamster België (merged into Jamba!) caught wind of this virality, realizing the monetary possibilities. Jamba licensed the rights to the character, renamed it "Crazy Frog," and starting marketing in mid-2004.

In 2004, Jamba licensed the animation and sound for distribution as a mobile phone ringtone. Jamba accompanied the release of the ringtone with a barrage of advertising. Crazy Frog soon became the most recognizable commercially available ringtone in the United Kingdom.

The ringtone had become popular in the United States by mid-to-late 2005.

Ringtones

Jamba did not hire Daniel Malmedahl to produce new ringtones, though samples of 2TAKTARE.MP3 still were used. Six or seven of the ringtones were made using Reinhard Raith's voice. Many ringtones were made, and Jamba's person voice lines were used in Popcorn, DJ Video and 'Football Crazy' album.

Jamba had earned an estimated £14 million from their Crazy Frog ringtones, making them the most commercially successful ringtone at the time.

A series of ringtones titled "Fun Sounds" featured Crazy Frog vocalizing against backgrounds of various countries' musical styles. These include the sitar-based "Crazy Frog India", reggae-flavored "Crazy Frog Jamaica" and Jimmy Barnes-esque "Crazy Frog Australian Rock." Jamba also had some more vulgar tones available, including "The Crazy Frog is Puking", "Crazy Frog and Its Girlfriend", where he is apparently making out, and "The Crazy Frog is F**king", in which gasping and smacking skin can be heard.

Videos

Alongside clips of Crazy Frog music videos, there were also video ringtones of national anthems for various countries, featuring their respective flags.

GIFs

The GIFs were mostly from original videos, but there were a few unique ones featuring Crazy Frog Photoshopped into various scenes.

Wallpapers

Apart from video screenshots and renders, there were a few unique renders used for wallpapers. Some were later reused in Crazy Frog Collectables - Art School and special CD editions.
